About me
Who am I?
I’m Manuel Mª Veiga and I mainly work on two areas: 1. Translation and Proofreading and 2. Music and Composition.
I became a translator and proofreader after studying a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation at the University of Vigo (2013) and the Master’s Degree in Multimedia Translation (2014) at this same institution. Since then, I work as a freelancer, both with translation agencies and private clients. I mostly work on translation for dubbing or voice-over, software and websites, research papers and general texts (instruction manuals, letters, regulations, contracts…).
I am now a musician and composer after having studied Classical Guitar at the Music School in Lugo. I soon became interested in composition, so I studied composition at the Conservatoire in Vigo (2016). I learned from many renowned composers, such as Juan Eiras, Sánchez Verdú, Gökçe Altay, Toshio Hosokawa, Tristan Murail, Alberto Posadas or Cristóbal Halffter. I currently teach music at the Music School in Rábade, Begonte and Outeiro de Rei (Lugo), where I am also the administrator. i also work as a freelancer on compositions, instrumentations, arrangements and transcriptions. I am also a member of Galician folk music band Milesios.
